Official vehicle rental agreement terms and conditions governed by the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and UAE Federal Traffic Law.


Driver Eligibility, Minimum Age & Required Documents
In compliance with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai, all hirers must meet the statutory criteria below prior to vehicle handover:
- Minimum Driving Age: Hirers must be at least 21 years of age for economy, compact, and crossover vehicles, and at least 25 years of age for luxury, sports, and high-performance SUVs.
- UAE Residents: Must present a valid UAE Driving License (held for a minimum of 6 months) and a valid Emirates ID.
- Tourists & International Visitors: Must present an original Passport with a valid UAE entry/visit visa stamp, an original Home Country Driving License, and an International Driving Permit (IDP) where required under UAE Federal Law.
Rental Rates, Payment Methods & UAE VAT (5%)
All rental fees are calculated and payable in United Arab Emirates Dirhams (AED).
In accordance with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 8 of 2017 on Value Added Tax, all rental charges, delivery add-ons, and ancillary services are subject to 5% UAE VAT.
We accept major credit/debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) and flexible payments via Tabby. Cash deposits are strictly settled with an official digital receipt.
Security Deposit Pre-Authorization & 21-Day RTA Refund Timeline
A refundable security deposit is required prior to vehicle delivery to cover potential traffic violations, toll fees (Salik), or fuel differences.
- Pre-Authorization: Credit card holds are released automatically by your acquiring bank within 14–21 business days.
- Statutory RTA 21-Day Rule: Under Dubai RTA regulations, security deposits are held for a minimum of 21 calendar days after return to reconcile delayed police fines or toll clearances.
- Digital Audit Trail: A transparent statement listing all deductions with official Dubai Police/RTA fine receipt numbers is provided upon request.
RTA Salik Toll System & Traffic Fines Reconciliation
Every GoDrive vehicle is equipped with an official registered RTA Salik transponder.
- Salik Toll Charges: Billed at the standard rate of AED 5.00 per toll gate crossing (AED 4.00 RTA tariff + AED 1.00 administrative fee).
- Traffic Fines: The hirer is fully liable for all traffic citations, speed camera fines, and parking violations incurred during the rental agreement.
Mileage Allowances & UAE Territorial Limits
Vehicles include standard generous mileage limits based on package selection:
- Daily: 250 km – 300 km / day
- Weekly: 1,500 km – 1,750 km / week
- Monthly: 4,000 km – 4,500 km / month
- Geographical Limit: Vehicles must remain within the borders of the United Arab Emirates. Cross-border travel is strictly prohibited.
Insurance Coverage & Mandatory Dubai Police Reports
All GoDrive rental vehicles include comprehensive motor insurance covering third-party liability as required under UAE law.
In the event of any collision or damage, an official Dubai Police Traffic Report is mandatory. Insurance claims cannot be processed without a valid police report.
Vehicle Handover, Fuel Policy & Return Condition
Vehicles are delivered with a documented digital condition checklist and fuel reading.
- Fuel Policy: Vehicles are delivered with a full or documented fuel level and must be returned with the same level.
- Cleanliness: Excessive soiling or smoking inside the vehicle incurs a professional detailing fee.
24/7 Roadside Assistance & Maintenance
Every rental includes complimentary 24/7 Roadside Assistance across all 7 Emirates. For mechanical issues, immediate vehicle replacement is provided in accordance with fleet availability.
Governing Law & Dubai Court Jurisdiction
This rental agreement is governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the Federal Laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Dubai.
